ENGLISH EDITOR TO LECTURE

"ENGLAND IN WARTIME" 18 SUBJECT OF TALK TONIGHT IN EMERSON D.

Mr. S. K. Ratcliffe, editor of the "Sociological Review" and Honorary Secretary of the British Sociological Society will lecture on "England in Wartime" in Emerson D this evening at 7.45 o'clock. The lecture, which will be open only to members of the University, is the second of the series given under the auspices of the International Polity Federation. Among the more prominent of the lecturers last year were Norman Angell, President Eliot, and Hamilton Holt. Professor Alvin S. Johnson of Cornell will give the third of this year's series next Wednesday evening on "Some Economic Aspects of the War."

Mr. Ratcliffe has had wide journalistic experience in many parts of the world. He was for five years editor of the Calcutta "Statesmen," and has long been a prominent writer on the staffs of the "New Statesman" and the London "Daily News." More recently he has lectured under the London University Extension Board. Professor. A. N. Holcombe, of the department of Government will preside and introduce the speaker.
