SPRING CONTESTS COMMENCE

NEWS AND EDITORIAL CANDIDATES FOR CRIMSON REPORT AT 7 TONIGHT.

All men from the classes of 1916, 1917 and 1918 who wish to compete in the spring competitions for the CRIMSON are to report at the office in the Union tonight at 7 o'clock. There will be three competitions, as follows: the last editorial competition for Juniors; the last news competition for Sophomores; and the first news competition for Freshmen. The competitions will be shorter than usual, lasting only twelve weeks. Complete information in regard to all competitions and the work required, will be given candidates this evening.

1918 Business Managers.

This year for the first time the CRIMSON will given an opportunity to Freshmen to try for the business department of the paper. This competition, which will begin on March 5, and end before the final examinations, will be opened to Freshmen in view of the prospect of a new CRIMSON building and the consequent enlargement of the scope of the responsibilities of the business department. One man will be taken on this spring, and will assume the duties of an assistant manager next year, and may attain the business managership of the paper in his Senior year. General business efficiency will be given most weight in the choice of this manager.
