The University gymnastic team will open its season this evening when they meet Brown University gymnasts in the Hemenway Gymnasium at 8 o'clock. Although Brown was victorious last year, the prospects for a victory tonight are good, for the University squad is composed largely of veterans. M. F. Gates '15, captain for the second successive year, and W. Campbell '16 are the best all-round men on the team, each being entered in four of the six events. The University entries are as follows:
Horizontal bar--W. Campbell '16, M. F. Gates '15.
Parallel bars--D. Campbell '17, W. Campbell '16, M. F. Gates '15.
Side-horse--W. Campbell '16, M. F. Gates '15, S. Hall '16.
Flying rings--W. Campbell '16, M. F. Gates '15.
Tumbling--M. F. Gates '15, R. G. McPhail '15, M. H. Reynolds '15.
Club swinging--H. R. Bechtel '17, R. G. Nathan '16, P. M. Symonds '15.
The judges of the meet will be Dr. C. B. Lewis, of Worcester; Mr. F. Maroney, of Tufts; and Dr. C. L. Schrader, director of gymnastics at the Hemenway Gymnasium. Tickets at twenty-five cents each are on sale at Amee's, Cooperative Branch, H. A. A., Leavitt & Peirce's, and the Union.
