DEBATING TRIALS ARRANGED

Candidates Will Speak on Increased Armaments on February 18.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first of the series of three preliminary trials for the University debating teams which was to have been held on February 19, has been changed to the evening of February 18 in order not to conflict with the Junior Dance. The second of the preliminary trials is "Resolved,--That it is to the best interest of the United States that there be an immediate and substantial increase in the army and navy."

Candidates will be required to speak for five minutes. All undergraduates, including Freshmen, and also those men in the graduate schools who have completed their undergraduate work at the University in three years are eligible. This gives everyone an equal opportunity to try for the team regardless of previous experience.
