Open Meeting for 1919 Debaters Next Monday

The committee on the organization of Freshman debating of the Debating Council has announced that the first meeting of the 1919 Debating Club will take place next Monday evening in the Smith Halls Common Room at 8 o'clock. The meeting will be for the purpose of organization and officers will be chosen for the year. The Council has secured Professor Joseph Henry Beale '82 of the Law School and Judge A. P. Stone '93, one of the graduate members of the advisory committee, to speak. C. A. Trafford '16, president of the council will preside.

Last year the fifth annual Freshman triangular debate between Harvard, Yale, and Princeton resulted in a tie. The affirmative Freshman team lost to Yale, while the negative team won from Princeton. This was the first time that Harvard had not won both the affirmative and the negative.
