The New England Belgian Relief has sent out its second annual appeal to the people of New England to contribute funds at once for the purchase of clothing and shoes for the Belgians. The New England Belgian Relief Fund has thoroughly investigated their needs, and the methods of meeting them, and is satisfied that whatever is sent will actually reach the war sufferers. Without this help, three millions of people will be without clothes and shoes during the coming winter.
Cloth can be sent, as it is now possible to have this made up into clothes in Belgium by destitute Belgian workmen, who are thus given employment. Second-hand goods are no longer wanted, as the regulations of foreign government forbid their entry into Holland and Belgium. President Wilson has cordially approved this relief work and appointed a supplementary committee to help.
The headquarters of the Belgian Relief Fund are at 426 Boylston street, Boston. Cheques should be sent to Joseph H. O'Neill, treasurer, Federal Trust Company, 85 Devonshire street, Boston.
