BOTH LEADERS HAVE SHOWN VERSATILITY IN ATHLETICS

Edward William Mahan '16, of Natick, captain of the University football team, is playing in the backfield of the University eleven for the third successive season. Last year and the year before he played right halfback, while this season he has been moved to fullback. His brilliant open-field work, combined with exceptional ability in both drop-kicking and punting, has earned him a position on practically every All-American eleven that has been selected during the past two seasons.

Captain Mahan prepared at Andover, where he was a member of the football, baseball and track teams. In his last year there he captained the baseball team. He was captain of the 1916 Freshman eleven, playing in the backfield of the team that defeated the Yale Freshmen 18 to 17. Mahan won his baseball "H" two years ago, and last year was the best pitcher on the team. He is 23 years old, 5 feet 11 1/2 inches tall, and weighs 171 pounds.

A. D. Wilson, Yale 1916.

A. D. Wilson, of Binghamton, N. Y., captain of the Yale University football team, has played on the eleven three years. In 1913 and 1914, as well as in his Freshman year, he played quarterback, but this year he has been moved to the halfback position.

Captain Wilson played halfback on the Exeter Academy team in 1909, and quarterback on Princeton Prep. the two years following. At the latter school he also played on the basketball team. At Yale he played on the University basketball team for one year, and has been on the University track team for two years as a shot-putter. Wilson is 23 years old weighs 175 pounds, and is 6 feet in height.
