FIRST 1919 SOCCER GAME OF YEAR

Although Untried Freshman Team Gives Evidence of Great Promise.

The Freshman association football team will play the first game of its series on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock against the Prospect Union team. The Freshman team this year is very promising. It is very strong on the defense, acting-captain Lucas playing a good game at centre halfback. All the other halfbacks are playing well, Myers showing up well in his position. The forwards have not developed their team-play, nor is their shooting very accurate, but as most of the men are new to the game, excellent progress may be expected.

The team will line up as follows: g., Preston; l.f.b., Thurber; r.h.b., Myers; c.h.b., Lucas; r.h.b., Bradley; l.h.b., Florence; c.f., West; l.i.f., Harris; r.i.f., Bertchmann; r.o.f., Zukoski; l.o.f., Heppenheimer.
