The first campaign meeting of the Democratic Club will be held in the Trophy Room of the Union this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Judge Thomas F. Riley, a member of the Gas and Electric Light Commission, will outline plans for the coming Democratic state campaign.
All members of the University, interested in present day political issues are invited. From 10 to 20 members of the club have been making stump speeches every evening, and have been so successful in this speaking in the past that their services have been especially commended by the State Committee. More men are needed for this work, however, and anyone wishing to enter into the active campaign should attend the meeting this afternoon. Direct benefit is derived from active work such as stump speaking in a campaign like the present one, for one meets the public in a different aspect than he has been accustomed to, and gains facility in public speaking.
