To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
Those of us who leave College this year look back with a faint smile, a smile even of regret, upon that sad period when large sums of money were extracted from scanty pockebooks, when active committees vied with one another in pursuing the poverty-stricken students, when the whole college glowed with enthusiasm over the vision of a new gymnasium.
Our regret grows stronger as we realize we are to reap no harvest from our investment. We are providing for posterity. It is an inspiring thought, indeed, to think that some day we may have nephews or sons romping in the splendor of a glorious gym. which first gained impetus from our own contribution, but somehow the inspiration is not quite sufficient.
Are all these committee-men dead? Who is fattening on the countless dollars so carefully collected? Who knows? Let there be light! R. T. TWITCHELL '16.
