Pierian Trials Unsatisfactory

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The first trials for the Pierian Sodality orchestra were held in the Pierian Room of the New Music Building last night, and the response of candidates was far from satisfactory. More men of musical ability are needed to keep the standard of the organization up to that of former years. Trials will be continued in the Pierian Room tonight, tomorrow night, and on October 12 at 7.30 o'clock. All members of the University are eligible for the orchestra.

The work this year will be under the direction of M. E. Alloo, a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a former member of the Pierian.
