Coash Burgess in Charge of Soccer

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Burgess took charge of the University association football practice yesterday afternoon, appearing on the field for the first time this year. He spent the first part of the afternoon in drilling the squad in the rudiments of the game,--shooting goals and passing the ball. The last part of the practice consisted of a scrappy scrimmage of 12 minute halves, every man having a chance to play.

Some of the new material showed up well, but more men are needed to fill the large number of vacancies in the line. Candidates for the position of goal, in particular, are needed. All men who want to try for the team should report to Captain Weld on the field tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock.
