For the second time this season the University hockey team won an "eleventh hour" victory in the second period when it defeated the Princeton seven 4 to 1 in the St. Nicholas rink, New York, last Saturday night. At the end of the first half the score stood 1 to 0 in favor of the University, Morgan having scored on a long individual dash. The University did not show its real ability in this period and the Princeton seven missed most of its opportunities to score.
In the first few minutes of play in the second half, Townsend managed to score and Phillips caged the puck shortly after. The last goal for the University was made by Wanamaker who had gone in for Townsend. Before this Schoen had gotten a short, quick drive past Wylde for Princeton's only score.
Captain Claflin and Morgan played their usual brilliant game and Wylde showed up well at goal. The forward line, when it finally got into its stride did very good work. W. Humphreys and Peacock played the strongest game for Princeton.
The summary: Score--University, 4; Princeton, 1. Goals -- Morgan, Townsend, Phillips, Wanamaker, Schoen. Referee--W. Russell. Assistant referee--Bud Cloffey. Goal umpires--S. Paton and T. Howard.
