In the first secret practice of the season the University football squad had a long, hard, work-out, yesterday, afternoon. First, Team A, and later Team B lined up against the plucky seconds in a scrimmage which lasted over 45 minutes. Team A scored three touchdowns and a field goal across the line Team B scored one touchdown, holding the seconds scoreless.
Featuring the play of the afternoon was a spectacular forward pass from Mahan to Hardwick for a 20-yard gain and a long end run by Willcox, who scored Team B's only touchdown.
The call for more 1918 football material was responded to by forty additional men.
