French and German Oral Exams.

All students in Harvard College, except those who entered before 1910. must pass, by the end of their second year, a special oral examination to test their power of translating either French or German.

A student who, by the end of his second year, has not passed this oral examination, is thereby placed on probation.

Opportunity to take this examination will be given in the afternoon from Monday, October 5, to Friday, October 9, inclusive. All candidates who wish to take the oral examination in either French or German must notify the Recorder, 4 University Hall, in writing, before Friday, October 2. Each candidate will then be notified when and where to present himself for the oral examination.
