CATALOGUE OF GREAT INTEREST

University Press Announces Publication of Noble Lectures.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The new 64-page catalogue of recent publications by the University Press contains many books of interest. Among the first to be mentioned are the William Belden Noble Lectures on "The Spiritual Message of Dante," delivered here last year by Canon Boyd-Carpenter of West-minster Abbey, England. There are included in the volume four ancient portraits of Dante and some notable, quaint reproductions from the illustrations to Lord Vernon's famous "Inferno." Canon Boyd-Carpenter, for twenty-seven years Bishop of Ripon, has long been recognized as a student of Dante, though this is the first book he has ever written on the subject. His lectures here were very popular among students and others, the New Lecture Hall being well filled on each occasion.

Other recent publications include "The Ten Books on Architecture of Vitruvius," translated by the late Professor Morris H. Morgan, and profusely illustrated; "The Year Books of Richard II (1388-89)," edited under the auspices of the Ames Foundation by George F. Deiser; "Corporate Promotions and Reorganizations," by Dr. Arthur Stone Dewing '02; and "Cases on Constitutional Law," by Professor Eugene Wambaugh '76.

Among the books scheduled for immediate publication are the succeeding volumes of Professor Wambaugh's "Constitutional Law;" "The Secondary Teacher in Germany," by William Setchel Learned, of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching; "Preservatives for Food: Their Use and Abuse," by Otto Folin. Hamilton Kuhn Professor of Biological Chemistry and "Scientific Management," a collection of the most significant papers ever written on this subject, by Clarence Bertrand Thompson '08, instructor in Industrial Organization.
