Richard Norris Williams, 2d, '16, of Cambridge has been elected captain of the University tennis team for the coming year. He will head the team at the intercollegiate tournament at Haverford in September, for which trials will be held at Longwood during the second week in that month.
Williams Wins Championship.
In the championship round of the University singles tournament held Saturday, R. N. Williams '16 defeated J. Wooldredge '16 in straight heats, 6-2, 7-5, 6-3. The playing was made hard by windy weather and much dust. The final match in the College doubles tournament will be played between E. B. Starbuck '14 and K. W. Snyder '14 vs. R. Z. Crane '17 and G. E. Gale '17 at Jarvis Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The winners will play the best team on the University squad for the College championship.
