PLANS FOR REGATTA TOMORROW

Three eight-oared races will be held in the Basin tomorrow afternoon over a 1 7-8 miles course stretching from Cottage Farm Bridge to a point just opposite the Union Boat Club. The first race will be between Cascadilla School, a preparatory school for Cornell, situated in Ithaca and the Stone School of Boston. Following this will be a race between the Freshman crew and the Cornell freshman crew. The last race will be between the University crew and the Cornell university crew. Both of the Cornell crews left immediately after their race on Lake Cayuga, Saturday and arrived here yesterday stopping at the Hotel Victoria in Boston. Winning by one length over Princeton and five lengths over Yale, Cornell will push the University eight to the limit. This morning the three visiting boats will have a long practice and go over the course of the race. It has been practically decided that the order of the University boat will be the same as that announced last week after the Philadelphia regatta, and which has remained unchanged until now.

Signal System to Aid Spectators.

For the first time since races have been held in the Basin there will be a way of letting the spectators on Harvard Bridge know the results of the race immediately after the finish. The Harvard judge at the finish will signal to a man stationed on the Bridge for that purpose the winner of each race and the distance between the boats at the finish. As soon as this information has been received at the bridge it will be announced. This is a much needed innovation as was shown last year at the triangular race between Harvard, Princeton and Pennsylvania when those who watched it from Harvard Bridge were unable to learn anything about the results until some time after the conclusion of the contest.

The crew management has secured Forbes who performed satisfactorily at the Poughkeepsie regatta to referee the races. The exact time of starting has not been given out but it will probably be 4 oclock.
