The University golf team suffered its first defeat of the season Saturday losing to Williams on the links of the Springfield Country Club by the score of 4 to 2. John Marshall of Williams was low score with 76 while Captain Allis of Harvard was second with 78. The individual matches resulted as follows: J. Marshall (W.) defeated Captain E. P. Allis 15, 2-1; P. Hyde (W.) defeated F. Sargent '14, 3-1; H. Fessenden (W.) defeated P. W. Simonds '15 1 up (20 holes); J. G. Heyburn '16 defeated C. A. Gleason (W.), 5-4; S. P. Griffitts '15 defeated C. A. Atwell (W.), 1 up; C. W. Victor (W.) defeated C. S. Weeks '14 2 up.
