The University of California track team which will enter ten men in the Intercollegiate Meet next Saturday is expected to arrive in Boston next Wednesday. The men have been working out at Toronto for the past few days but will endeavor to do their final conditioning on the Stadium track. The team stopped off for a day at Detroit on its way east in order to give the men a chance to break the monotony of the trip by working out there. The Californians expressed themselves as well satisfied with the Toronto track but objected to the condition of the jumping pits and the field for the hammer-throw.
The strength of the westerners is unknown as no competitive scores are available for forming an estimate, but many predict that they are the men who will force Pennsylvania and Cornell for first honors. The men who compose the team are: E. Cralibe, captain, O. Bradway, H. Coolidge, W. Maker, W. McFie, L. Nichols T. Preble, E. Stanton, E. Wiley, and H. Wood.
