CHANLER LEADS IN CARROLL RACE

Captures Cup for Second Time.--Freshman Crew Orders Shifted.

Lewis Stuyvesant Chanler, Jr., '14, of Tuxedo Park, N. Y., won the Carroll Cup race for single sculls yesterday in the Basin, for the second successive year. Eight boats started, but W. T. Gardiner '14, was the only close contestant at the finish.

There was a shake-up in the Freshman crews yesterday, number three and number seven changing places, and Lovell going up from the second boat to number four, sending Stebbins to six and Culbert to the second eight.

The Freshman orders now are:

First eight-oar--Stroke, Brown; 7, Cabot; 6, Stebbins; 5, Ely; 4, Lovell; 3, Potter; 2, Young; bow, Higginson; cox., Cameron.

Four-oar--Stroke, Whittemore; 3, Eaton; 2, Chadwick; bow, C. Coolidge; cox., Henderson.

Second eight-oar--Stroke, Baker; 7, A. Coolidge; 6, Culbert; 5, Richardson; 4, Smith; 3, White; 2, Wylde; bow, Phillips; cox., Dewart.
