In the extemporaneous speaking contest of the Speakers' Club last night, Richard Brigham Southgate '15, of Worcester, won first place and Richard Edward Connell '15, of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., second. Honorable mention was given to Samuel Shackford Otis '14, of Winnetka, Ill., and to Charles Adelbert Trafford, Jr., '16, of Worcester.
John Bovingdon '15, of Seattle, Wash. and Grant Palmer Pennoyer '15, of East Orange, N. J., were each awarded one-half of the prize in the contest on "International Peace," which was held on Saturday. Samuel Shackford Otis '14, of Winnetka, Ill., received honorable mention.
