Trials for the University tennis team started yesterday and will be continued this afternoon. Yesterdays matches resulted as follows: O. Williams '14 defeated R. Morris '14, 6-0, 6-3. H. Wainwright '15 defeated A.L. Bulter '15, 5-7, 6-2, 6-1. L. Curtis, 2nd, '16 won over W. P. Hunt '16 by default. D. F. Buffum '14 defeated A. S. Peabody '16, 6-2, 6-3. T. J. D. Fuller '15 defeated W. Nichols '16, 6-1, 6-1. H. D. Holmes '16 defeated C. J. North '14, 6-3, 6-4. R. H. Kettell '14 defeated C. W. Curtis '14, 7-5, 18-16. W. Faulkner '14 defeated W. Campbell '16, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. H. P. Briggs '15 defeated G. F. Plimpton '14, 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
The following matches will be played today: At 2.15--E. R. Hastings '14 vs. J. Wooldrege '16, W. B. Kahn '16 vs. D. Kimball '15, F. S. Hyde '16 vs. J. C. Devereux '14, G. G. Emmons '16 vs. P. Lowry '16, and C. A. Herter '15 vs. C. Judson '14.
At 4.15--E. F. A. Morgan '15 vs. H. A. Scranton '16, D. C. Josephs '15 vs. J. A. Richards '15, H. D. Holmes '16 vs. H. Wainright '15, winner of Kimball and Kahn vs. T. J. D. Fuller '15, winner of Emmons and Lowry vs. E. H. Woods '14, and winner of Hyde and Devereux vs. H. P. Briggs '15.
The Freshman trials will be continued this afternoon between 3.30 and 4.30 o'clock. Candidates for the team should be sure to report to J. S. Brown '17 whether they came out yesterday or not.
