NINE VS. YALE'S VANQUISHERS

HEAVY-HITTING VIRGINIANS DEFEATED ELIS TWICE EARLY IN SEASON.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With two victories over Yale to its credit the Virginia baseball nine will meet the University team on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock.

Virginia has the best record to date of any of the teams, with the exception of Georgetown, that Harvard has faced this season. Although the victories over Yale came at the start of the latter's schedule, nevertheless, Virginia's strength was shown by her heavy batting and fast fielding.

The line-up which defeated Bates, that seems to be the permanent one, will take the field for Harvard. Frye or Hitchcock will do the twirling.

The batting orders: HARVARD.  VIRGINIA. Nash, 1b.  2b., Paschall Wingate, s.s.  r.f., Phillips Clark, 2b.  s.s., Neff Ayres, 3b.  l.f., White Gannett, r.f.  1b., Word Hardwick, l.f.  c.f., Guy Milholland, c.f.  3b., Stickley Waterman or Osborn, c.  c., Green Frye or Hitchcock, p.  p., James
