Registration for Teaching Positions

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Teachers' Registration Bureau of the Massachusetts Board of Education offers exceptional opportunities to college graduates to obtain positions as teachers. A fee of $2 is required upon registration and the candidate's name and ability are listed for reference in case of application by superintendents of schools. Application blanks may be obtained by applying to Mr. W. I. Hamilton, Ford Building, Boston.

Men intending to apply are also reminded of the teachers' contributory pension law, which requires all teachers (except those in the city of Boston) who enter the service of the public schools for the first time on or after July 1, 1914, to become members of the teachers' retirement association. Teachers are assessed at the rate of 5 per cent. of their salary, provided that the minimum assessment be $35 per year, and they may retire upon an allowance at the age of 60.
