A system for reserving in advance the tennis courts at Jarvis Field will be inaugurated tomorrow. This will apply only to afternoon play. Of the 38 courts, only 25 will be under the new system, leaving 13 under the old system of "first come first served."
Blue-books for reservation will be placed at Leavitt & Peirce's, and at Jarvis Field, at which places anyone desiring to reserve a court may do so between the hours of 8 and 1.15 on the day of play. Slips will be provided entitling the holder to the use of a specified court for not more than three consecutive half-hour periods. The first period will begin daily at 1.45 o'clock. The applicant must pay for the court upon receipt of the slip. Courts will be forfeited without refund if the holder of the slips does not claim his court within 10 minutes after the beginning of the period. In case of rain, tickets may be redeemed if presented at the place where bought, sometime during the following day.
