The University lacrosse team will play the first regular game of the season with the Boston Lacrosse Club on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The game with Carlisle, originally scheduled for today, has been cancelled. The Boston Lacrosse Club has a very fast team, it being composed entirely of Harvard graduates, five of whom were formerly captains of University teams. R. S. Simmons 1G.S., captain of last year's championship team, plays defence; P. Gustafson '12, who is coaching the Harvard squad, led the 1912 team; P. C. Nash '11, F. C. Alexander ''10, and D. P. Penhallow '03 are also ex-captains.
During the past week particular stress has been laid on the coaching of the University's defence; but the team has been considerably handicapped by injuries to players. Four men will be out of today's game.
