A petition was filed with the Public Service Commission yesterday asking that the Boston Elevated Railway be ordered to provide the Harvard square station of the subway with a more convenient method of transfer from one level to another. At present people coming in on the lowest level are forced to climb two flights of stairs in order to reach the street. It is desired to have the cars which now run on this level enter the Square on the surface, or else to have escalators installed.
