Today is the last day upon which essays for the Bowdoin Prizes may be handed in. Five prizes are given, three for dissertations in English and two for Greek and Latin essays. The competition is open to all undergraduates. All manuscripts should be sent to the Secretary of the Faculty, University 20.
Second Year Honors.
Candidates for Second Year Honors must register not later than today at the Recorder's Office. These honors are open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, and to Special Students after the first year. Freshmen and first year Special Students may compete only after securing special permission. The awards are made on two conditions: first, distinguished excellence in classical studies amounting to four courses; second, distinction in the special examinations held in the last week of May.
Doctor's Theses.
This is the last day for handing in theses for the degree of Ph.D. in 1914 in the Divisions of Ancient Languages, Modern Languages, History, Government, and Economics. All theses should be sent to the chairmen of these divisions.
Menorah Society Prize.
Essays of the Harvard Menorah Society Prize are due today. This is an unusual prize of $100 given for the best essay by an undergraduate "on a subject connected with the work and achievements of the Jewish people." For further information inquire of I. Levin 1L., Perkins 42.
Register for Boylston Prize.
Tomorrow is the last day for receiving names of competitors for the Boylston Prizes for Elocution.
