University Candidates Start Practice Under Coaches Wray and Brown.--1917 Out Wednesday.

The University crew squad will commence regular practice at the Newell Boat House this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock. All candidates from the three upper classes will report at this time. Coach Wray, assisted by Coach Brown, will take charge of the practice at once.

The object of the early season work will be to get the men into good physical condition before the river is clear of ice. Practice will consequently consists mainly of rowing on the machines and outdoor running.

The Freshman squad will be called out Wednesday afternoon. Coaches Wray and Brown will also direct this work. The Freshmen will be given considerable practice on the machines in order to furnish inexperienced men training in the fundamentals.
