Voluntary practice for all candidates for the University and Freshman crews will begin immediately upon the return of students from the Christmas recess. Coach Wray will be in the Newell boathouse every afternoon to direct the work of candidates on the rowing machines. Regular work will not begin until the close of the mid-year examinations and will consist of practice on the machines and in the tank, together with cross-country-running until the ice breaks on the river. Fieshmen who have had little or no previous experience are especially advised to take advantage of the opportunity to receive personal instruction on the machines from Coach Wray during the voluntary rowing period.
