The Henley crew which won the Grand Challenge Cup at the English regatta last July, and brought the cup to this country for the first time since it was offered for competition, will be the guests of the Harvard Club of Boston at a dinner to be given in their honor next Tuesday, November 17. Motion pictures of the races will be shown, and the Grand Challenge Cup will be on exhibition.
Among the speakers at the dinner will be L. Saltonstall '14, captain of the victorious crew; H. A. Murray, Jr., '15, captain of the University crew; Dr. P. Withington '09, captain of the Union Boat Club Henley crew which met the Harvard crew in the final heat of the English regatta; O. Filley '06, captain of the University crew in 1906 which defeated Yale only to be beaten by the Cambridge University crew on the Thames; and R. F. Herrick '90, chairman of the Harvard Graduate Rowing Committee, who had charge of the Henley crew after it left the hands of Coach Wray.
The members of the Union Boat Club Henley crew will also be the guests of the club. Seats for the dinner at $2.50 each will be reserved as they are applied for.
