Although the annual report of the Co-operative Society has not yet been placed before the Board of Directors, the preliminary figures show that there has been an appreciable increase in the amount of business, in profits, and in membership, as compared with the year preceding.
The membership of the Society for the year amounted to 3,193, an increase of 156 over the previous year. The total number of sales in all departments of the store for the twelve months ending June 30 last, amounted to $429,987.76, as compared to $418,774.19 taken in during the year 1912-13. This will permit the Directors to declare the dividend, and still have a fair surplus. Dividends will be declared, as announced by the Society, in the issue of the CRIMSON for October 28.
