The inside construction work on the Widener Memorial Library is still proceeding slowly, but the officials of George L. Payne & Co., the builders, are doubtful whether the structure will be ready for occupancy before spring.
Marble setters, steam fitters, sheet metal workers, electrical workers, and asbestos pipe fitters are now at work. The bricklayers, who are on a strike because of a disagreement with the marble workers, are still holding out, together with the plumbers.
