JUNIORS CAPTURE TENNIS TITLE

Defeat 1917, 8 to 2, in Final Match.--Williams Beats Caner.

The Juniors won the class championship in tennis yesterday afternoon when, in the final round of the tourney, they defeated the Sophomores by 5 matches to 2.

The best exhibition of tennis seen this fall marked the match between R. N. Williams, 2d, '16 and G. C. Caner '17, captains of their respective class teams. The play was brilliant; terrific drives and clever placing being intermingled with the steady safe game to which each man occasionally resorted. Williams proved the cleverer of the two, however, and contributed a winning match to the Junior score. The results of the other matches were as follows:

E. C. Wilson '16 defeated J. S. Brown, Jr., '17, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4; W. Rand '17 defeated J. Wooldredge '16, 6-3, 6-2; A. S. Peabody '16 defeated R. Z. Crane '17, 6-4, 8-6; A. F. Doty '16 defeated E. O. Baker '17, 6-1, 6-4; J. Wooldredge '16 and D. H. F. Doty '16 defeated W. Rand '17 and J. S. Brown, Jr., '17, 10-8, 6-1.
