Michigan Depends on Splawn

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Michigan's football prospects have taken somewhat of a slump. The loss of Hughitt and Galt now leaves the Western college but two of last year's regulars. Of these Captain Haynsfor has been shifted to centre and Lyons to right end. But with Splawn's magnificent drop kicking and its inexperienced but very effective line, Michigan is still a very formidable opponent. Splawn is being drilled daily, kicking drops consistently from the 40-yard line. Michigan expects to win easily from Syracuse tomorrow with drop-kicks, for Coach Yost regards Splawn as the best drop-kicker of all time.

Rumors of a wholesale shift in Michigan's line leaked out at Ann Arbor last night, but the coaches refuse the facts.
