Smith Hall defeated Standish Hall yesterday afternoon in the first game of the series by the score of 6 to 0. There were many fumbles in the game on both sides, one of them costing Standish its only chance to score. During the first two quarters Smith forced the playing and kept the ball entirely in Standish's territory, but in the last two periods Standish's line stiffened and its goal was not again in danger. Hitchcock of Smith and Storer of the Standish eleven were conspicuous for their consistent playing. The single touchdown was made by Page.
