At the University track meeting held last night in the Union, only about 40 men were present. But despite the apparent lack of interest, Captain Capper expressed certainty that a winning team can be developed if every man will go into the fight with a strong determination to win. All the speakers emphasized the fact that it takes numbers to make a winning team. New material is in this way brought to light and developed, so that men who are at first of little ability become by practice and training sure point winners.
Besides Captain F. W. Capper '15, N. W. Bingham '95, W. A. Barron, Jr., '14, H. Jaques, Jr., '11, and Coach A. Schrubb addressed the meeting.
Meet With Technology.
A track meet with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to be held on the new field October 24, was also announced.
Training Table Formed.
The University cross-country training table starts Tuesday morning, when the following men should report for breakfast between 8, and 8.45: W. C. Boyden, Jr., '16, R. S. Cook '17, R. H. Davison '17, W. Edgar '16 W. Kent '16, H. G. MacLure '15, C. J. North '17, C. Southworth '15, D. B. Wilson '16, B. V. Zamore '15.
