A set of three trophies, the property of the late F. W. Thayer '78, captain of three University baseball teams and inventor of the baseball mask, has been presented to the Varsity Club. The collection includes a large silyer loving cup, a silver baseball, and mask. All were presented to Mr. Thayer by his team-mates on the baseball nines of 1876, 1877, and 1878, the three years during which he was captain. The trophies have been placed in a case and are on display in the living room of the Varsity Club.
