UNEVENTFUL DAY IN STADIUM

NO SCRIMMAGE FOR FOOTBALL SQUAD.--PRACTICE SECRET HENCEFORTH

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University football squad had only a light drill yesterday afternoon, the work consisting mainly of signal drill for the backfield and individual coaching for the ends. Brickley, Mahan, and Hardwick played together in the backfield for the first time. This combination worked smoothly, and did some hard, fast charging. Coolidge, Curtis, Gardiner, and O'Brien, the leading candidates for end, were given special coaching in defensive play, practising for some time breaking up plays of the second team backfield. The serious weakness in punting that was noticed in the game Saturday was the subject of considerable attention, Mahan, Brickley, and Bradlee all being tried out.

Norwich May Cancel Game.

Norwich College, scheduled to meet the University on October 25 may cancel all its games for the rest of the season owing to the recent death of a member of the team. No action will be taken by the University management until official notice of the cancellation is received.

Practice Behind Closed Gates.

Secret practice for the University will commence this afternoon, and none will be admitted to the Stadium except players and coaches. From now on the daily practice will be at 3.30 o'clock; the backs, centres, and ends should be dressed at 3 o'clock.
