CRIMSON COMPETITIONS OPEN

The second opportunity for members of the Sophomore class and the next to the last chance for Juniors to compete for positions on the board of the CRIMSON come tonight. All candidates from the class of 1916 for the news board and all from the class of 1915 for the editorial writers' places should report in the CRIMSON Office at 7.30 o'clock to hear the work outlined.

There are seven positions open to 1916 men on the news board, three or four of which will be filled in the competition beginning tonight. Work for this consists of securing news about the University, and gives an invaluable acquaintance with all the various activities and their leaders. To men who make the board, the administrative positions of the paper lie open, and in them an invaluable experience in the handling of news and men. As these positions are not open to men taken on for editorial writing, all interested in the administrative and more practical side of journalism are urged to come out in the news competition. Lack of previous experience is not the slightest handicap. The competition will close shortly after Christmas vacation.

Two positions are open to editorial writers, only one of which will be filled in this half-year's competition. The work consists of writing and gathering together data for editorials, and the competition will be of the same duration as the news one. For this, of course, the first qualification is a clear, concise style.
