The Northfield Conference of Eastern Colleges will be held this year from June 20 to June 29 inclusive. A delegation of at least 70 men will represent Harvard at the Conference, the members being housed in Gould Hall, the new dormitory together with the Yale delegation. A special train leaving Boston at noon on Friday June 20 will carry the delegation to Northfield where the Conference will be officially started Friday night. The expense per man will be $18 exclusive of railroad fare. It would be possible for men to attend the boatraces at New London as there is a direct route to Northfield.
The purpose of the annual Conference is the furthering of the religious and philanthropic activities in the colleges or what corresponds to our Phillips Brooks House work. Well known men are invited to address the Conference, meetings of which are held twice daily and in addition there are smaller groups which meet to discuss topics connected with the general purpose of the Conference. Athletic events add much to the popularity of the work at Northfield. A baseball series, intercollegiate, is held as well as a tennis tournament and a track meet. Men may still sign up for the Conference with G. F. Plimpton '14 or N. L. Tibbetts '15.
