Matches in the College doubles tennis tournament were played on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon with the following results:
D. Kimball '15 and E. S. Draper, Jr., '15 defeated A. J. Lowrey '13 and E. H. Woods '14, by default; J. C. Devereux '14 and E. R. Hastings, Jr., '14 defeated W. B. Harris '13 and C. G. Hill 1G., 6-2, 6-4; H. G. Smith sG.B. and T. B. Lewis '13 defeated W. W. Mansfield '14 and E. H. Heminway '15, 1-6, 6-4, 7-5; J. C. Devereux '14 and E. R. Hastings, Jr., '14 defeated H. G. Smith sG.B. and T. B. Lewis '13, 6-2, 6-2; C. C. Felton '16 and L. Curtis 2d, '16 defeated G. Sturgis '13 and S. Minot '13, 6-4, 7-5.
Schedule for Today.
The following matches in the doubles tournament will be played on Jarvis Field this afternoon:
D. Kimball '15 and E. S. Draper, Jr., '15 vs. H. A. Lawton '14 and J. S. Pfaffmann '16, at 2.30 o'clock. The winners of this match will play J. C. Devereux '14 and E. R. Hastings, Jr., '14, at 4 o'clock. E. H. Whitney '14 and J. J. Armstrong '14 will play C. C. Felton '16 and L. Curtis, 2d., '16, at 4 o'clock.
W. M. Washburn '15 in Finals.
W. M. Washburn '15 in defeated J. Woolredge '16 in singles yesterday by the score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-1. He thus qualifies to play the winner between A. J. Lowrey '13 and J. J. Armstrong '14 for the College championship in singles.
University Trials.
The following men will report at Jarvis Field at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon for trials for the University tennis team: A. J. Lowrey '13, E. H. Wood '14, J. C. Devereux '14, E. r. Hastings, Jr., '14, O. Williams '14, and G. B. Kayser '14.
