Tournament Began Yesterday.--Results and Matches Scheduled Today.

Matches in the first rounds of the College doubles tournament were played on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon. Seniors will be excused from playing matches today owing to the Class Picnic. All contestants should report their scores on the card posted at Jarvis Field before leaving the courts.

The matches played yesterday resulted as follows:

G. Sturgis '13 and S. Minot '13 defeated R. B. Romaine '13 and H. D. Minot '13, 6-1, 6-4; G. Sturgis '13 and S. Minot '13 defeated E. S. Harrington '13 and N. E. Paine, Jr., '13, 6-1, 6-0; W. W. Mansfield '15 and E. H. Heminway '15 defeated C. J. North '14 and D. B. Buffum '14, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4; F. S. Hyde '16 and J. Wooldredge '16 defeated C. A. Herter '15 and H. Wainwright '15, 6-2, 6-4; C. C. Felton '16 and L. Curtis 2nd, '16 defeated W. Faulkner '14 and W. W. Whitney '15, 6-4, 6-0; H. A. Lawton '16 and J. S. Pfaffmann '16 defeated H. D. Holmes '16 and A. J. Doty '16, 6-2, 6-3.

Schedule of Today's Matches.

D. P. Rumsey '16 and W. P. Hunt '16 will play E. H. Whitney '14 and J. J. Armstrong '14 at Jarvis Field this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. The winners of this match will play F. S. Hyde '16 and J. Wooldredge '16 at 4 o'clock.
