YALE 1915 WON CREW RACE

The Yale 1915 crew defeated the Harvard Sophomores by six lengths in the Basin Saturday afternoon. Rough water handicapped the rowing somewhat and as a result the time for the mile and seven-eighths course was only 13 minutes. The light Harvard crew was in capable of maintaining a high stroke while the sturdy Yale men pulled a consistently faster stroke.

The crews had an even start at the Cottage Farm bridge, Yale rowing 38 and Harvard about 28. At that rate almost throughout the race, the visiting crew easily drew away from the Harvard eight, and at no time was the outcome in doubt. Even at the finish, with Yale far in the lead, Harvard failed to raise the stroke and shorten the distance between the two shells.

The crews rowed in the following order:

Yale 1915.--Stroke, Bennitt; 7, Stillman; 6, Coe; 5, Woodruff; 4, Robb; 3, Captain Harrison; 2, Hart; bow, Smith; cox., Donaldson.

Harvard 1915.--Stroke, W. C. Paine; 7, E. R. Willkinson; 6, M. Weston; 5, E. Reynolds; 4, L. Osborne; 3, F. S. Bacon; 2, V. J. Grace; bow, Captain T. W. Storrow; cox., Gallaher.

Carroll Cup Race Postponed:

The Carroll Cup race was not run off on account of the rough water. It will be rowed at the first favorable opportunity.
