Almost anyone will admit that bodily exercise is the necessary complement of mental activity, yet there has always remained the valid objection that college athletics are for the few. When the Harvard and Yale class crews meet for the first time on the Basin this afternoon, a big step toward the removal of the objection will be made. Perhaps the most pleasant side of the race, however, is its friendly informality. Strange as it may seem, the Yale crew will race in a Harvard boat, and we hope that it will be properly welcomed and entertained by the Harvard oarsmen and their friends.
