President Lowell has lately received a letter from Mr. Daniels, Secretary of the Navy, cancelling arrangements for taking college men on the battleships during this summer's cruise, on account of certain recent changes in the Department's plans. It is hoped that the plan may be practicable next summer.
Meanwhile the War Department has decided to hold two camps this summer, one at the Gettysburg National Park, Pennsylvania, from July 7 to August 29, inclusive, and the other at the Presidio of Monterey, California, from July 1 to August 29 inclusive, for the military instruction of college students. It is hoped that the men who signed up for the battleship cruise, and many others besides, will sign up for this camp work. Names should be sent to A. J. Lowrey '13, Holworthy 5. Further particulars will be printed later.
