SECOND TEAM DEFEATED

Lawrence League Team Won Yesterday by Score of 14 to 9.

The second University baseball team was defeated by the Lawrence New England League team on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon by the score of 14 to 9. All except one of the runs scored by Lawrence were made in the first and third innings off of Hardy, who was hit very hard and was wretchedly supported. Hitchcock was sent in to pitch in the fourth and fifth innings and Withington finished out the game. Harvard scored once in the first inning but made a very poor showing until the fourth when they got four runs through a combination of errors and scratch hits. Frequent changes were made so that about twenty men played for the second team.
