Amateur Athletic Games.
On Saturday, April 19, at 3.30 o'clock, the Amateur Athletic games will be held at the North End Park under the auspices of the City of Boston. About forty entries have been made by members of the University. There will be six handicap events open to registered athletes: a 100-yard dash, a 440-yard dash, an 880-yard run, a mile run, a three-mile run, a running high jump, and a novice scratch 100-yard dash. The prizes for each event will be gold and silver watches for first and second places, and umbrellas for third. This is the first meet this spring in which University men have been entered, and should prove a good chance to get a preliminary line on some of the runners.
