The eleventh annual Boston automobile show will open this evening in the Mechanics Building, and will continue throughout next week. Plans for the exhibition were begun early in the winter, and the actual work of decorating was started Tuesday. Very elaborate preparations have been made, the grand hall being decorated to represent "The Hanging Gardens of Babylon," of which a novel feature will be the waterfall on either side. The main floor scene will be that of a tropical garden, while the basement will be decorated to give a green marble effect.
The list of exhibitors comprises practically the complete line of recognized manufactured cars in the United States, and already there are enough entries to make it the largest exhibition of its kind throughout the year.
There will be four orchestras, situated in the various halls, and the usual restaurant. As is customary, Wednesday, March 12, will be "society day."
